Pawtraits | Dog Photography in West Sussex
Because They’re Not Just Part of the Family ◊ They’re Your Baby.
The love you have for them doesn’t need explaining here.
Created at my East Grinstead studio in West Sussex, your Pawtrait Experience is relaxed, personal dog photography that captures their quirks, their personality and everything that makes them yours.
Because these aren’t simply dog portraits, they’re portraits of someone who belongs in your family.

Loki’s Story
Hi I’m Loki – when my Dad comes home from work, I love to welcome him and we have this special routine it’s like the dog version of an Eskimo kiss. Dad says these photographs are just like our little evening routine and every time he looks at them they make him smile. I love my Dad.
When They’re Your Baby, They’re Your Baby
You might call yourself their mum or dad; you might talk for them, you know exactly what every look means and arrange more of your life around them than you’d ever admit.
Sometimes wonder whether other people really understand, well here, you never need to explain it.
When a dog is part of your family, the love you have for them is real. They’re a part of your everyday, your routines, your home and your story.
They’re not “just a dog”.
They’re yours, they’re your baby
Your Pawtrait Journey
Step 1

Let’s Connect…
It all starts with a conversation.
I want to hear about your dog; their personality, their quirks, what they love and what makes them unmistakably them. We’ll talk about what you’d love from your Pawtrait Experience,.
Step 2

Your Pawtrait Experience…
There’s absolutely no expectation for your dog to sit perfectly or behave impeccably; where would the fun be in that?
We’ll work with their personality, with plenty of treats, toys and time to settle in. Whether they’re full of beans, a little more cautious or somewhere in between, the aim is to create portraits that look and feel like them.
Don’t forget you’re their mum or dad, you can be in the portraits too if you want to.
Step 3

Your Design Consultation…
This is when you come back to the studio and see your portraits for the first time.
We’ll look through them together and you’ll choose the ones you love and decide how you’d like to enjoy them at home, whether that’s a single mounted portrait, a collection or something for your walls.
There’s no minimum purchase; you simply choose what’s right for you.
Step 4

Living with your artwork…
The final part of the experience happens at home.
Your artwork becomes part of everyday family life; something you see now and something that, over time, becomes even more precious. A reminder of their personality, the little things that made them unmistakably them and the place they hold in your family.
Something tangible that shows just how loved and wanted they have always been.
Is This Experience Right For You?
A Pawtrait Experience might be right for you when…
Your dog is very much your baby and an important part of your family. You’d love portraits that capture their personality, rather than simply what they look like. Your dog isn’t perfectly behaved, perfectly trained or particularly interested in doing what they’re told. That’s absolutely fine. You have more than one dog and couldn’t possibly imagine leaving anyone out. You’d love something tangible in your home that celebrates who they are and just how much they mean to you.

I Believe
I believe every member of your family deserves to be celebrated for exactly who they are, and to have their place in your story made visible.
Sometimes, that family has four paws.
Because these portraits are about more than what they look like. They’re about who they are to you; their personality, companionship, all those important routines and the thousand little moments that make them part of your everyday life.
They make something you already know visible: they were here, they belong.
They have always been loved and wanted.
Bruno’s Story
I was one of a litter, tri-coloured, with ears the colour of black tea and toffee. I didn’t know yet that I was looking for anyone when a woman crouched down, and I went straight to her. I remember putting my nose to her face, and kissing her, the way you do when you already know. Mummy said she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving me behind, so she didn’t.
I was a secret for a little while, a surprise kept from daddy and my hooman brother; I still like to imagine that moment, the two of them looking down and seeing me looking back up.
Since then, I’ve made it my business to greet the front door like it’s the best thing that has ever happened, every single time. I get down low on the floor, I roll, I make a fuss, and daddy always ends up laughing and bent double giving me a kiss whether he means to or not.
What mummy has never said to me in words, is what happens on the harder days. I am the one she sits with, she cuddles into me and I feel soft. Mummy says that with me next to her, everything will be OK.
I’m the luckiest boy alive.

Here’s What Some of My Lovely Clients Are Saying…
Frequently Asked Questions
Of course. If they’re part of your family, they’re welcome.
Let me know about everyone when we talk so we can plan your Pawtrait Experience around them.
Absolutely not! Your dog doesn’t need to sit perfectly, stay on command or suddenly develop impeccable manners for their Pawtrait Experience.
We’ll work with who they are. Some dogs are wonderfully obedient, some have their own ideas about how things should be done. Both make brilliant portraits.
That’s absolutely fine. We’ll give them time to explore the studio, have a good sniff around and get used to me and their surroundings.
Every dog is different, so we’ll work at their pace rather than expecting them to fit around us.
Absolutely, but you don’t have to be.
Some people want the portraits to be entirely about their dog, while others couldn’t imagine not having a portrait together. We can create whichever feels right for you.
Bring their lead, any favourite treats or toys and anything that’s particularly special to them.
I have plenty of treats at the studio too, provided they’re allowed them, and we’ll talk about anything else worth bringing when we plan your experience.

From the moment we first talk, I want to understand who they are, the little things that make them yours and the relationship you share.

Because this isn’t simply about creating beautiful portraits of your dog.
It’s about creating something that feels like them, and celebrates the place they have in your family.
Tell me about your furbaby; what do you love most about who they are?
