The Garden Chef a Joyous Local Business

I do love to support local businesses and today I am going to wax lyrical about The Garden Chef who is based in West Hoathley just outside East Grinstead.

Before Lockdown

Before lockdown Rebecca from the Garden Chef specialised in Wedding and Event Catering and anything involving hospitality has suffered severely.

After Lockdown

Rebecca diversified and has been creating happiness to our area and producing the most amazing food by way of picnics, sweet boxes and teas.

The Missing Link Micro-Brewery

Rebecca’s husband runs a micro-brewery in West Hoathley called the Missing Link Tap Room, so they joined forces and the Missing Link has become the hub for all things gorgeous.

Facebook

In the early days I saw a post on Facebook from Katherine Bly a wonderful local florist and it really caught my eye and I liked The Garden Chef page. Over the coming weeks posts popped up on my page and they really cheered me up.

I loved the fact that everything was selling really quickly and one week I thought I want one of those teas so got my order in.

I ordered!!!

It was super easy, I messaged Rebecca at The Garden Chef, she confirmed the order and sent me BACS details on the Sunday before, so the whole thing was completely contactless.

Collection Day!

I picked up my delicious tea from The Missing Link Tap Room on the Wednesday and set up in our conservatory. To say I was enthralled from the moment I collected was an understatement!!

Posh Plates

A tea of this stature deserved the ‘posh’ plates, so out they came along with proper tea leaves in a pot with strainer…well it has to be done properly!!

The smells that exuded from those glorious boxes of joy were amazing and there was tons of it, a really hearty tea that was fantastic value for money at £15 per person.

Let’s Get Eating

So, we started off with finger sandwiches, followed by sausage rolls and quiche with a savoury finale of cheese straws. Next up was a whole box, yes, a whole box of sweet treats each. A whole box folks and every bite from savoury to sweet was just sublime.

Every Bite was Heaven

We had the most wonderful afternoon munching away on delicious food and next up on my wish list will be a picnic and another tea at some point I think. Hopefully I can share the amazingness of The Garden Chef with family if we are able to get together again.

How do I Get One?

To order a tea, sweet box or picnic you will need to go directly to The Garden Chef Facebook page and it’s there you will see what is available and when. To make things easy here is the Facebook link:
