About Me: Your Guide to Portraits with Heart (and a Dash of Humour)

You want photographs that show your story — the love, the laughter, the little moments that make life yours. That’s where I come in.

I’m Claire, the face behind Woodland Hill Photography. I grew up in Tunbridge Wells and spent the early part of my career in The City, where I met my husband. But somewhere along the way, I realised life’s most meaningful moments don’t happen in boardrooms — they happen in the in-between. So, I swapped the suits for a camera, and Woodland Hill Photography was born.

Since then, it’s been quite the journey — full of unexpected turns, creative lightbulb moments, and the occasional knot of artistic frustration (I’m still amazed I have any hair left!). But through it all, I’ve stayed committed to creating photographs that feel honest, joyful, and undeniably you.

A Few Official Bits:

I’m an Associate member of the British Institute of Professional Photography; the Master Photographers Association and I’m also a Craftsman of the Guild of Photographers.

Some people say I collect qualifications — they might be right. But my background in The City taught me the value of training and never standing still. If I’m helping you tell your story, I want to do it with care, skill, and attention to detail.

Portrait Photography, Tailored to You

Whether it’s the quiet strength of a professional headshot, the joy of a first birthday, or the deep bond you share with your four-legged best friend — I’ll help you feel relaxed and seen, so we can create photographs that feel true to the life you’re living right now.

A Little Brag (Because You Deserve the Best)

Since 2011, I’ve been lucky enough to win several awards — including placing 26th in the International Loupe Awards for my work in the Abstract/Illustrative category. Fancy a peek at the full list? Just click the button below, but the greatest award I can be given is the joy on your face, nothing touches that.

Let’s Talk, Laugh, and Create Something Brilliant

If you’re looking for someone who’ll guide you through your journey, keep things light, and help you walk away with photographs you’ll treasure for years — I’d love to hear from you.

Oh, and as tradition goes — a few of my favourite things? Sunrises and the magic of the seasons with just a pinch of cheekiness. The rest? You’ll have to ask in person…

Take a look around the website, check out what I’ve been up to on Instagram or Facebook, and when you’re ready — let’s have a natter.
